Privacy Policy
What personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.
This policy explains how High Spec Roofing collects and uses personal data through this website, and what rights you have under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. It should be read alongside our Cookie Policy, which covers cookies and similar technologies in more detail.
Who we are
High Spec Roofing (SW) Ltd, trading as High Spec Roofing, is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We are a roofing contractor operating in Taunton and the surrounding Somerset area.
You can contact us about anything in this policy by email at info@highspecroofing.co.uk or by phone on 01823 973065.
What we collect, and why
When you send us an enquiry
Our enquiry form asks for your name, email address, the service you need, and optionally your phone number and a message describing the work. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry, quote for the work, and arrange any visit or job that follows.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — specifically, responding to someone who has contacted us asking for a quote. If we go on to carry out work for you, we process your details on the basis of performance of a contract.
We do not add enquiry contacts to a marketing list, and we do not sell or share your details with anyone for marketing purposes.
When you call, email or message us
If you contact us by phone, email or WhatsApp, we hold whatever you choose to tell us for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry or the work arising from it.
When you browse the site
This site uses Google Analytics and Google Ads, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising. These are configured with Google Consent Mode: until you choose “Allow all” on our cookie banner, no analytics or advertising cookies are stored on your device, and the limited data sent to Google carries no persistent identifier for you.
Where we do set these cookies, our lawful basis is your consent, which you give through the cookie banner and can withdraw at any time using the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of any page. Our Cookie Policy sets this out in more detail.
Our hosting provider also processes standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type as part of serving the site securely, on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site available and protected from abuse.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Vercel — hosts this website and processes server logs.
- Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager) — website measurement and advertising, only to the extent you consent. Google may process this data outside the UK; Google applies standard contractual clauses for those transfers.
- Our email and form provider — delivers enquiry messages from the website to our inbox.
- Our content management system — stores the images and content published on this site. It does not hold enquiry data.
We may also share information where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept only as long as we reasonably need them, and are then deleted. Where we carry out work for you, we keep records for as long as required for accounting, warranty and legal purposes.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- ask us to delete your data in certain circumstances;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your data in certain circumstances;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent — this does not affect anything done before you withdrew it;
- ask us to transfer your data to you or another provider in a portable format, where that right applies.
To exercise any of these, email us at info@highspecroofing.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page. Last updated: 4 August 2026.
